The aims of the visit:-

We hope that this teambuilding experience will prove enjoyable for your child, but we also aim:

  1. To develop a group identity and loyalty
  2. To encourage independence
  3. To have the benefit of facilities and experiences not available at Tytherington School.
  4. To enable the staff to meet and work with pupils in a more informal setting so fostering a greater understanding of one another which will enhance the pupils’ education.

The coaches will depart Tytherington High School at approx 9:00am, arriving at Rope Race at 9.45am.

The pupils are expected to return to Tytherington School around 3.15pm in time for the School Buses. Student will be able to make their own way home as normal. If collecting your child from school, please do not park in the bus turning circle.

What to take to Rope Race

Below is a suggested list of clothing and essential equipment.

Food: Packed lunch, (a packed lunch will be provided for students on Free School Meals )

In a bag, clearly named:

Clothes:
Change of Clothes/Shoes for canoeing,
Bin bag for wet clothes
Loose fitting trousers (jeans are not practical for climbing)
Sweater or Fleece
Indoor footwear (eg trainers)
Gloves/Hat
Waterproof Jacket/(trousers if possible)

Toiletries:
Towel
Brush/comb

Medicines:
We will carry first aid kits, and the Centre has full
First aid equipment.
If your child is required to take regular medication-
PLEASE MARK CLEARLY WITH NAME, NUMBER OF
DOSES, WHEN TO TAKE ETC and hand these to
Mrs Healey or Miss Henshall.

Pocket:
Purse or wallet (CLEARLY NAMED)

Money:
NO MORE than £3 –(less is perfectly acceptable!)

Water Bottle:
Your child will require a water bottle to drink out of for the duration of the trip.
