On Wednesday 30th November, the PE Department hosted their annual Sports Awards Evening. Nearly 100 students from across all key stages received awards for sporting excellence and dedication. There were awards for over 20 different sports played at Tytherington.

We were delighted to welcome back, ex-Tytherington student, Izzy Christiansen, who had just returned to the country having played an international in Holland! The PFA player of the year, who is a central figure in the all-conquering Man City double-winning Womens team, said that the key to sporting success was hard work and dedication.

Natalya Corn won the Outstanding Contribution to School Sport Award. Mrs Rimmer said: ‘Natalya works tirelessly in her academic studies, achieving high grades in her subjects and yet always finds time to play a great deal of sport in her own time. She never fails to take charge of organising teams for fixtures and offering to volunteer her time to help at a whole host of events such as primary festivals, sportshall athletics competitions and so many more. Natalya, along with a number of other Tytherington P.E. students were recently identified by the Macclesfield School Games Coordinator as being particularly proficient leaders and were hand-picked over all of the other Macclesfield schools to run a host of local events for both primary and secondary school children. Each task Natalya is faced with, she completes with a smile on her face and she is a huge asset to the department and the school. It gives us great pleasure to announce that the winner of the Outstanding Contribution to School Sport is Natalya Corn’.

Congratulations to all the students who take part in school sport!
