During the course of the summer we will experience a number of days when temperatures are raised and the sun blazes overhead. On those days, we would like to advise students and their parents to prepare and take precautions to ensure that children do not suffer any ill-effect of the hot weather. Therefore, please prepare for hot weather by taking the following steps:

  • Please bring in additional bottles of water to school to ensure that children have enough to drink and remain hydrated during the day.
  • Please start the day by applying sun cream and bring in a bottle of in order to re-apply during the course of the day.
  • Please bring in a sun hat that could be worn on the way to and from school, and during the break and lunch times at school.

During the course of the break and lunch times, we advise students to consider the length of time that they spend in direct sunlight and the activities that they choose to do during that time. It is advisable to take breaks from being in direct sunlight and ensuring that you do not overheat through physical activity.

Please do take these precautions on hot weather days and keep yourself safe and healthy.
