On Monday 19th March, Tytherington School hosted their first Family Dining Pop-Up Restaurant. The families current Students were invited in for a tour of the School, followed by lunch served by our students. The Pop-Up Restaurant was part of a day of celebrations to commemorate Tytherington School’s Founders Day.

Five founding governors were invited to attend the event and there was a special picture display of how the school looked over 50 years ago. Nearly 100 parents, carers, students and grandparents shared a family meal. Several students volunteered to set-up the tables, serve the food and deliver musical performances to accompany the meal. At the end of the lunch guests were invited to a Tytherington flag raising ceremony at the front of the school.

One guest said ‘We would like to thank you for a great opportunity to see the school on a normal day. The food was brilliant too.
It was great to be able to spend time walking and talking with staff and children. All the young people helping in the hall today and showing us around were a credit to the school’.

Headteacher, Manny Botwe said: “This was a tremendous event which showed the community side of the school. We were bowled over by the response to the event. A special thank you goes to Mrs Clare Woods, Librarian, who organised the event. We are also grateful for the catering staff who put on a lovely meal. Well done to all.”
