It has been a very busy couple of weeks for our transition team and student ambassadors!

Last week, we welcomed 520 children from Year 5 and 6 to take part in a number of taster days. Year 6 visited us for 2 days where they had the opportunity to meet their form tutor, complete a treasure hunt around school and complete an art project to show their new form tutor.  On the second day they took part in three lessons such as Music, Languages and English. One Year 6 from Parkroyal said “it has really helped coming to Tytherington this week as I have met my form tutor and don’t feel so nervous about coming up to school in September”.

On Wednesday 4th July, 300 children from a number of primary schools across Macclesfield such as Hollinhey, Parkroyal, Bollinbrook, Gawsworth, etc took part in a ‘Cultural Fusion’ day. The children were split into different countries and took part in 3 lessons from salsa dancing and African drumming to Indian textiles and all had a chance to either learn Arabic, Mandarin or Japanese.  Mrs Rigby (Transition Coordinator) said, “It was great to see so many different children making new friends and having a go at learning new things. Hopefully it will provide the children with a real experience of what life at Tytherington is like.”

All the Year 5 children have now been invited to join us on Thursday 27th September 2018 for our Open Day and Evening. If anyone would like more details, please contact info@tytheringtonschool.co.uk for more details.
