COVID-19 Update, Tuesday 29th June 2021

Dear Families,

I have been informed this morning of two further positives cases. One of the students is in the current Year 11 and was in school yesterday during one of our Sixth Form Induction Days. The other student is in Year 12 and had already been identified as a close contact of a positive case from the weekend. Contact tracing has been made more difficult as there has been social contact over the weekend between students across the year groups.

Unfortunately, this means that a number of students will need to self-isolate for at least 10 days after their last contact with the positive cases. It has also cut short the face-to-face induction day for many students. We have made contact with those who have been affected via email.

For those Year 12s who have not been identified as close contacts, they will return to school tomorrow as normal. Onsite testing will take place for Year 12s throughout the day.

What you can do to help

You can help us by ensuring that you test your children every three days. Also, if your child is unwell or not feeling right in any way, please keep them away from school. Should a positive test result emerge then please make contact with the school via e-mail on confirmedcase@tytheringtonschool.co.uk . Those who have been identified as close contacts are now being encouraged to go and get a PCR test.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Thank you for your patience and support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Emmanuel Botwe
