COVID-19 Update, Monday 5th July 2021

Dear Families,

As you may be aware, we have had a number of confirmed positive cases which span across years 7, 8 and 9. One of the cases involved a large social gathering over the weekend which was attended by several students across different year groups and schools. You will appreciate that this has made contact tracing trickier than normal.

Sadly, several students will need to self-isolate for at least 10 days after their last contact with the positive cases. We have made contact with those who have been affected via email.

School will open as normal for all year groups. A number of “hybrid” live lessons will run across the timetable for students who are self-isolating. Students should check their Teams calendar for invites to those lessons, and FireFly for any accompanying resources.

What you can do to help

You can help us by ensuring that you test your children every three days. Also, if your child is unwell or not feeling right in any way, please keep them away from school. Should a positive test result emerge then please make contact with the school via e-mail on confirmedcase@tytheringtonschool.co.uk . Those who have been identified as close contacts are now being encouraged to go and get a PCR test.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Thank you for your patience and support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Emmanuel Botwe
