On Tuesday 2nd April, Tytherington School hosted its annual Spring Concert event showcasing the best musical talent the school has to offer. A large audience filled the Main Hall for an evening of musical brilliance and joy.

There were several spectacular solo and ensemble pieces from across the age range. It was great to see a number of different bands and choirs represented. These included performances from the Jazz band, Senior Choir, Junior choir, Steel Drum Band, String Group, Brass Group and the Concert Band. The audience also enjoyed fantastic solo performances from Charlotte Sturley, Ailsa Addie, Olivia Unwin, Marek Werner, Esther Bird, Frankie James-Lee, Lilly Hill and Effie Millar.

Musical opportunities for students at Tytherington School continue to go from strength to strength. Mr Lilley, Head of Music, said: “The quality of the performances just gets better every year. This is down to the students’ dedication and hard work”.

Manny Botwe, Headteacher, added: “We are lucky to have a great department here. One in ten now learn a musical instrument in school which is a great achievement. They were brilliant. We want the full range of our students to take part in high quality musical performances. Mr Lilley and Mr Beecher do a great job.
