Innovate Services is Educaterings Contract Caterer of the Year
Hello, my name is Mark Salt and I am the Innovate Chef Manager at Tytherington School.
Our aim is to provide the students, staff and visitors of Tytherington School, healthy, nutritious tasty meals and snacks at an affordable price. The main refectory is open to students and staff from 8am – 4pm and the 6th form iCafe is open 8.30am -4pm. We offer a variety of fresh and healthy produce at breakfast, break, lunchtimes and after school for all year groups to enable students to receive a nutritious and well balanced diet. All of the food is prepared daily by our own staff in our kitchen on the school’s premises using only the very freshest, seasonal produce as available.
Themed days are organised regularly to engage interest, broaden students’ experience of different cultures and foods, and add support to educational activities in school. Examples early in the calendar year include a celebration of Chinese New Year and of St Patrick’s Day. Regular support is given to national charity initiatives (e.g. Comic Relief) and special events provide further opportunity for fun and innovation.
We think it is important students have an input on the food and service we provide and regularly meet with student focus groups to work together on new ideas and the introduction of new food and drink offers.
We have recently introduced the option for parents/carers to top up and credit students accounts on-line. Paying on-line also enables parent/carers to view valuable information about how much is spent and what food and drink items are purchased.
Students can pick up an iClub meal deal including a hot main meal, dessert of the day and bottle of water for the basic meal deal price. Anyone can benefit from our iClub meal deals and offers but if you sign up at www.innovate-services.com/schools and become an iClub member, we give you even more.
Just for becoming a member we will give you a voucher worth £2.50 to spend in the refectory/iCafe. After that you will receive other meal deals and money off vouchers throughout the academic year.

In light of the national news reports regarding horse meat contamination in beef dishes, we wish to clarify the steps our catering operator, Innovate Services, has taken, and continues to take, to confirm the full origin and safety of the meat products used within our school restaurant.
As a matter of priority, Innovate Services has been in contact with all food and ingredient suppliers. To date, all suppliers have confirmed that no horse meat has been traced within any of the products sold to Innovate.
Innovate Services have appointed Dr Lisa Ackerley Bsc (Hons) director of food hygiene & health and safety consultancy of Hygiene Audit Systems Ltd to manage this process, including independently report on the details of all ongoing investigations with our nominated suppliers.
This includes a secondary safety precaution of undertaking independent DNA testing of products within the food supply chain, which Innovate Services is conducting in partnership with its suppliers. Innovate has also taken the further precaution of removing from the menu any processed meat products in the interim period.
Hygiene Audit systems and Dr Ackerley are a retained consultant of Innovate Services limited and provide ongoing auditing and process management to their compliance team. For further information visit: http://www.hygieneauditsystems.com
