This course is equivalent to 2 A Levels and will be studied alongside one additional A Level (or equivalent) subjects. The diploma is an ideal course for those who wish to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the business sector.

There is a high percentage of internally assessed coursework, which may appeal to students who prefer a more continuous approach to assessment. The external assessments may be in the form of a written examination, but may also be a set task which is completed during a defined window.

A Diploma in Business can lead to a variety of university and career options in the fields of Business and Finance, especially when combined with specific A Level / BTEC courses (see complementary courses).

Complementary Courses

BTEC Business works well across a range of subject combinations. It works particularly well as part of a three A level equivalent Business option as well as being combined with other subjects. Business particularly complements studies in ICT, English, Maths and the Social Sciences.
