Congratulations to Amelia Preston in Year 8 who has been appointed as the Bollington Mayor’s Youth Consort. The Mayor’s Youth Consort is selected from nominations put forward by organisations on the invitation of the Town Clerk. The organisations who are invited to nominate include all the local Macclesfield schools as well as 236 Squadron Air Cadets, TS Ardent Sea Cadets, Bollington Girl Guides/Seniors and Bollington Scouts/Explorers. Amelia takes over from our very own Holly Brockbank. Amelia will be representing the Bollington Girl Guides.

Obligations will include contributing to the following events:

• Mayor making
• Civic Sunday
• Remembrance Sunday
• Civic Dinner

Mr Botwe was present at the Mayor Making Ceremony and said: “This is a brilliant achievement and we are proud that for the second year running, the Mayor’s Youth Consort is a Tytherington student. Amelia is a wonderful role model and will be a great ambassador for youngsters in Bollington. I’d also like to thank Holly who has had an amazing year as the very first Youth Consort. Well done.”
