Mr Botwe returned to his alma mater, Corpus Christi College, Oxford, as the guest of honour at the annual Undergraduate Scholars Dinner on Tuesday 13th November. The annual event is an invitation dinner for undergraduates of the college who have achieved a distinction or First during their first year examinations. Every year, a scholar from years gone by is invited to return to address the students. Mr Botwe read Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) at Corpus Christi between 1999 and 2002. He talked to students about his work as a Headteacher and reminisced about his time as the President of the Junior Common Room (JCR) in 2001.

Mr Botwe said, “I have to say I was pretty shocked to be invited back as the Guest of Honour.  I see so many of my contemporaries in the newspaper or on TV so I thought they would select someone who was famous! It was a great honour to be asked and a good opportunity for me to plug the teaching profession and encourage the students to pursue a career in the comprehensive sector. “
