We are seeking to appoint from October 2019, a Science teacher in Physics.

Support Staff Vacancies

Pastoral Support Officer – Grade 4/5
Start date: As soon as possible

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Macclesfield’s leading secondary schools and make a significant contribution to the school’s pastoral office.  The role includes providing an efficient and effective student and school support service where students are all treated with respect.  Assist in the provision of welfare, guidance and support between students, parents and other third parties.

Hours of Work: 37 per week 08:00 – 16:00 Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 15:30 Friday.

Weeks per Year:  39 weeks per year (term time; plus 5 inset days).

Salary: Grade 4: £14,248 – £15,527 per annum (£16,586 – £18,075 FTE)

Pension: Local Government contributory scheme

Each of the support teams is structured to provide the opportunity for career development.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

• To be the initial point of contact for students, parents, Educational Welfare Officer, Safeguarding, Bridges and Heads of Year.
• To be a focal point for students during the school day – dealing with requests to go home, missing uniform, lost timetables etc. referring students as appropriate to other members of staff.
• Support with attendance issues – check lesson registers during the day, chase up missing children, record C3’s.
• Assist with the uniform exchange initiative and any uniform infringements liaising with parents, Safeguarding, Heads of Year as appropriate.
• Organise a variety of appointments – counselling referrals, Careers, meetings with HOY’s, Nurses appoint
• To be the first point of contact for students in relation to any issues regarding First Aid.
• Manage and maintain the medical medicines register from the green admission forms, communicate with parents for appropriate authorisations and ensure that all medicines held in school are within their expiry dates and all paperwork is in place and accurate.
• Maintain an ability to deal with issues of a sensitive nature and awareness of how to handle confidential information.

Reprographics Assistant – Grade 4
Start date: As soon as possible

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Macclesfield’s leading secondary schools and make a significant contribution to the school’s administration office. The role includes providing reprographic support to staff and students to facilitate the running of the school and maintaining reprographic equipment to ensure maximum availability.

Hours of Work: 37 per week 08:00 – 16:00 Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 15:30 Friday.

Weeks per Year: 40 weeks per year (term time plus one week to be worked in the final week of the Summer holiday; plus 5 inset days).

Salary: Grade 4: £14,613 – £15,925 per annum (£16,586 – £18,075 FTE)

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a batch photocopying service within the school and associated tasks such as binding and laminating.
  • Prioritise the flow of work to ensure that all photocopied documentation is consistently provided to the required standards and within the specified timescales.
  • Ensure all documents/information circulated is to the highest quality and branded correctly.
  • Operate and monitor the banner printer, ensuring that it is working appropriately and trim/eyelet/roll up banners to finish.
  • Maintain media displays around the school, taking down old media and putting up new as required.
